IBLS CEO Ana Penn featured in the new book by award-winning author Jan Norman

Jan Norman , an award-winning reporter, columnist and book author, has a new book which is entitled: What No One Ever Tells You About Starting Your Own Business.

The book, published by Dearborn Trade Publishing in Chicago features 101 successful business professionals including IBLS CEO Ana Penn and is available at www.Amazon.com, www.BarnesandNoble.com and most regular book stores.

Here is an excerpt from the book:

"Even new online companies can capitalize on the global reach of the Internet to build a vast network of strategic alliances and partners."

While earning her law degree, Ana Penn realized the rapidly growing, yet contradictory, worldwide field of laws and regulations governing the Internet and electronic commerce. "Small businesses must engage in e-commerce, yet they're either unaware of legal and regulatory issues or they're overwhelmed with conflicting information," Ana says. So she started International Business Law Services in 2000 with offices in Irvine, California and Brussels, Belgium. The company provides an Internet portal and membership subscription for legal information on e-commerce law worldwide. It also supplies up-to-date e-commerce law instruction. "One crucial aspect to any online business is the need to understand the global audience they are reaching," Ana says. "Along with this reach comes the need to understand business strategy from a liability point of view."

Quarterly Theme - "Prosecuting an Intellectual Property Cybercrime"

Continuing with this month's newsletter, IBLS is presenting its quarterly theme on important areas of Internet and E-Commerce Law. A selected theme is covered in a special summary from the IBLS database.

This month's selected summary covers the issues with respect to prosecution of intellectual property cybercrime. Generally, whether or not to bring legal action is a question of the facts of the case. Whether or not the facts will allow the prosecution of a crime or a civil lawsuit will depend on the factual circumstances involved. However, whether criminal charges will be filed depends on the attorney for the government determining if there is sufficient consideration that justify prosecution.

Selected summary titled "Prosecuting an Intellectual Property Cybercrime" addresses some of these issues.
