IBLS Strategic Global Summit For E-Commerce, September 18-19, 2003, in Southern California.

IBLS is pleased to announce its 2003 premier event, the Strategic Global Summit For E-Commerce, to be held by invitation only at a private venue in Southern California on September 18th and 19th.

This exclusive gathering will bring together speakers from various key international governmental organizations and C-Level executives, influential in shaping the evolution of E-Commerce structure. Speakers will extrapolate on best practices of their organization, case studies that offer unique incites, and frank discussions as to what direction E-Commerce regulation will take over the next 5 years.

First LL.M. in Tax specialization in E-Commerce at St. Thomas University School of Law

IBLS Online Education is excited to welcome St. Thomas University School of Law (STU) students into the final courses required for the E-Commerce specialization LL.M. in International Tax.

Students who started in June of 2002 and took all the courses offered by IBLS during the Summer and Fall semesters at STU will complete their E-Commerce Specialization in the LL.M program by enrolling into two new courses starting February 3rd.

For the Cyber Crime and Techno-Torts class, IBLS is introducing its new professor, Shane Greenberg. Professor Greenberg has extensive experience in Internet law, from both an academic and private practice perspective. The course will look at evolving areas of cyberlaw such as encryption, cyberterrorism, electronic evidence, cyberstalking and more hot topics.

The Privacy class is being taught by IBLS Online Education Director and Professor Sally Amirghahari. It will focus on the various privacy issues surrounding E-Commerce. The course will look at privacy statutes from global jurisdictions, with an emphasis on the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and European Union Directives on personal data collection.

'The Sale of Domain Names and Web Sites' - The Italian perspective by Giorgio Corno

Italian IT lawyer Giorgio Corno of Studio Corno www.ciscorno.it presents a compelling look at the sale and transfer of Internet properties and the procedures for these actions in Italy. Mr. Corno looks at specific assets vs. the whole business, explains the differences between top level and second level domain names, notion and structure of websites, and many other related areas.

'What are the first steps in securing digital evidence?' An article by Erik Laykin

OnlineSecurity's President, Erik Laykin explores the complexities and processes involved in collecting digital evidence for potential litigation or investigation.

Digital evidence is fragile by nature and must be treated carefully to prevent spoilage or even the slightest appearance of improper handling or usage. Due to the complex issues and interconnected relationships between operating systems, software applications, databases and the multiple users who in many cases operate on the same network; a digital evidence investigator must simultaneously have both an understanding of the 'big picture' or Network Architecture as well as have the ability to bring relevance to the smallest of details.
