IBLS European Activities IBLS Europe is the latest entity formed as part of International Business Law Services' global expansion.
With it's Brussels office, IBLS Europe is able to facilitate a closer working relationship with it's partners, businesses, and European Union on legal developments and E-Commerce regulations. IBLS Europe is located at Boulevard Louise Schmidt 119/3 -1040 Brussels, Belgium Tel: 32 2 7065601.
CEO of IBLS, Ana Penn, met last week with representatives of the European Commission in Brussels to finalize the use of the IBLS U.S. Law portal for the Commission. The U.S. Law portal was launched in conjunction with the European Commission Society, and will provide small and medium business enterprises in Europe extensive information on U.S.legislative and policy concerning E-commerce Law.
European business in need of specialized U.S. Internet Law information can now reach it via the European Commission Society.
Managed by the DG Information Society, there is a wealth of thematic information produced mainly by the European Commission and other European Union members, with more than 130,000 visitors monthly to it's website.
The various topics and policy areas are arranged thematically to facilitate a more comprehensive overview of European Union activities in the Information Society field.
In other activities of IBLS Europe, Ms. Penn will be participating as an invited speaker at the Center for International Legal Studies conference in Kitzbühel, Austria, January 12-18, 2003. The event, entitled "High-Tech Law: E-Commerce, Information Technology, and Telecommunications", will feature Ms. Penn speaking on the future of E-Commerce Law, and how staying informed is vital for eBusiness success in this global digital economy.

Tom Geiser Joins IBLS as Director of Public Relations IBLS is pleased to introduce Tom Geiser as it's new Director of Public Relations. Tom brings much experience to IBLS, as he has spent the last nine years in public relations.
Most recently Mr. Geiser spent more than
three years managing and supervising campaigns at
Fleishman-Hillard, one of the world's largest public
relations firms. At Fleishman-Hillard he oversaw
publicity for the nation's largest municipally owned
utility and served as media manager during the
political national convention hosted in Los Angeles in
2000. Mr. Geiser also helped launch national and
international products and services in the automotive,
telecommunications and financial industries.

IBLS Distinguished Legal Writing Award For 2002 As the IBLS database content continues to grow, we would like to continue to recognize the excellent summaries submitted by our Charter Partners worldwide. Without their support and hard work, IBLS would not have achieved it's growth and success here in 2002. December is the last month for Charter Partners to submit summaries that can be eligible for the 2002 IBLS Distinguished Legal Writing Award.
For 2001, the award went to Shakeel Kudrolli of Rawell & Kudrolli in Bombay, India, who received 500 stock options in IBLS.
