International Business Law Services (IBLS), a world source of legal information on legal issues relating to the Internet, will offer one of it’s Online Education division courses in cooperation with Western State University College of Law. The course will be taught in Western State’s computer lab utilizing online resources for each student. Materials will be drawn from IBLS’ database of law summaries authored by experts from more than 30 countries, and include such topics as digital money regulation, global and U.S. tax planning, E-Commerce tax and commercial website liability.

“Western State has a rich history of providing students with an innovative, practice-oriented curriculum and this online database content from IBLS will enable us to meet the demand for courses on Internet issues, ” says James Hogg, Dean of Western State. “This will allow our students to learn about tax and other laws in a wide range of jurisdictions and gain practical knowledge of the regulatory environment of the Internet,” Hogg added.

The IBLS Legal Database used in this program contains summaries written in an easy-to-understand business language, is accessible in multiple languages, and includes immediate access to the original source of law and regulation. IBLS Legal Network Partners, representing law firms around the world, participate in updating the database by writing summaries on constantly changing Internet regulations and laws.

“We believe that informational legal issues will increasingly be delivered using business language instead of in a traditional legal format,” commented Ana Penn, Executive Director of IBLS. “The companies contribute business language formatted content to our database as a way of demonstrating their expertise in their fields, which attracts clients who need their services,” says Penn. Additional information on the various IBLS Online Education programs is available at www.edu.ibls.com.
