Freedom Of Information Act

The Freedom of Information Act has guaranteed that federal agencies are liable for providing records to individuals when proper procedures are followed. The FOIA have required that federal governments have to make these records available public inspection and copying and to establish and enable enforcement of the right of any person to obtain access to the records of such agencies for any public or private purpose. The FOIA has been amended to make this information available in electronic format due to the increasing use of the Internet.
