Business Method Patents under the European Patent ConventionBusiness method patents proved to be quite controversial in their initial U.S. approval stages. In the European Union (EU), business method patents are still no patentable and controversial. The increasing use of the business method patents in the U.S. and their significance on electronic commerce and Internet transactions demonstrate that there must be uniform global laws applicable to these patents as technology evolves and the economy becomes a global one.
