The Sale Of Luxury Cosmetics Over The Internet Under French And European Law

Under French and European law, it is acknowledged that the Internet may be used as a complementary way of developing a selective distribution system. However, the distributors’ websites still have to comply with the general conditions of the selective distribution agreements. This might be a problem, since electronic commerce is hardly compatible with such traditional notions as territory and individual advice that are familiar to luxury cosmetics' selective distribution networks.
