Online Age Verification

Online merchants need to verify customers’ ages in providing age-sensitive products to the public. Credit card verification, digital age certificates and "biometrics” could be used either singly or in concert to assure that only adults visit adult-oriented Web sites and sites where cigarettes can be purchase. Although various legislation has not been upheld, online age verification systems are still in place, but they have not been successful.
