Recent Legislation Mandates Reasonable Notice Before Terminating Electronic Mail Accounts

California lawmakers have passed legislation that deals with the reasonable notice requirements that users must receive from their electronic mail providers. Corresponding legislation that would enact the same measures to be taken for Internet Service Providers (“ISPs”) was vetoed by Governor Davis. This legislation will have an effect on all Internet companies that are doing business in California.
