European Union Anti-spam Directive

Seven European Union countries including Italy, Denmark, Germany, Austria, Greece, Finland and Spain have effectively banned spam along with such related annoyances as automated telemarketing and unsolicited faxes. This European Union Directive gives the consumers an “opt-in” opportunity if they desire to have this unsolicited email. If there is no prior relationship with the company, they are not permitted to bother the consumer with the unsolicited email.
