European Union Copyright Directive

The European Union Copyright Directive which is almost the equivalent of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act has been approved which enacts new extensions to copyright law. This directive has faced the same criticisms as the DMCA in that free speech will be silenced and that freedoms will be lost due to the copyright holder’s rights.
