Realnames Closure And Disappearance Of Their Keyword Technology Forced By Lack Of Microsoft’s Financial Support

Effective May 13, 2002, RealNames Corporation closed their operations due to lack of funding from Microsoft Corporation. Real Names Corporation was the source of innovation behind the keyword approach to Internet addressing, but was unable to survive due to lack of financial funding. At the end of June, keyword searches will no longer be available.
