Dubai's International Arbitration Law

On September 1, 2008, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Ruler of Dubai, signed the Arbitration Law of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). The new legislation, which repeals previous legislation in this area, is based on the UNCITRAL Model Law of 1985, as amended in 2006.
