THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT IN THE INTERNET ENVIRONMENT

The Turkish Obligations Code, article 1, sets the means for the execution of a contract. Accordingly, for the execution of a contract, the opposite parties should make mutual and congruent declarations of intent. According to Turkish law, contracts concluded via e-mail messages are to be accepted as either deals between present parties or deals between absentees, depending on the nature of the telecommunication means between the parties. This article briefly explains the formation of contracts under Turkish law.
