PROSECUTION OF CYBER STALKING IN NEW JERSEY

New Jersey uses its general anti-stalking statutes and sex offender statutes to prosecute and prevent cyber stalking. This article will answer the following questions: What is the difference between “cyber stalking” and “cyber luring; What are the criminal penalties for cyber stalking and cyber luring; Are there any jurisdictional limitations to the prosecution of cyber stalking and cyber luring in New Jersey; Can Internet access be limited as a way to prevent Internet stalking or luring; and provides some an example of a cyber stalking case in New Jersey.
