DOMAIN NAME REGISTRATION POLICY FOR THE EUROPEAN UNION (’.EU’ DOMAIN)

The European Commission has provided a legal framework for the ’.eu’ domain with its Registration Policy and Dispute Resolution Rules. An ‘.eu’ domain name is administered by EURID, the European Registry of Internet Domain Names. The Registration Policy provides the technical and administrative procedures for registrations as well as for the transfer, suspension, revocation and other aspects of acquiring and using ‘.eu’ domain names. This article presents an overview of the Domain Name registration policy in the European Union.
