ETHICAL HACKERS IN THE UNITED STATES

Businesses and governments want to utilize the Internet for electronic commerce, advertising, and other similar means of communication, but today computer security is a primary concern. Primarily, they are apprehensive about the probability of being hacked. The International Council of E-commerce Consultants provides for the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), a professional certification. Although, illegal hacking is a felony in the United States, ethical hacking is legal, if it is done under a contract between an ethical hacker and an organization. Hacking used to test computers and programs for bugs, errors and security holes is a form of ethical hacking.
