WTO Information Technology Agreement (ITA)

The WTO Ministerial Declaration on Trade in Information Technology Products (ITA Ministerial Declaration) established the WTO Information Technology Agreement (ITA) at the Singapore Ministerial Conference in December 1996. At that time, the ITA was adopted by 29 countries. The ITA calls for participants to completely eliminate every tariff and any other duties and charges on information technology (IT) products covered by the Agreement.
