Electronic Commerce In The European Union: Choice Of Laws

Which law is applicable? The issue of the law applicable to online contracts is one of the most difficult. In the EU, the Rome Convention and the E-Commerce Directive (Directive 2000/31/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 8 June 2000) deal with this issue. The European Commission is also contemplating the adoption of a new legislation on the law applicable to contractual obligations.
