Optical Fiber Technology: How It Changes Information Management

Today’s Information Society is characterized by intense data sharing and a quantity of readily available information that will continue to grow over the next years. Developments in Information and telecommunication technologies have, in fact, facilitated data sharing practices; though, organizations have had to set up systems that ensure better information management. In this regard, optical fibres technology has proven to be an indispensable tool. Italian legislators, in 1993, had already provided a basis for the storage and use of digitalized documents with the Act 537/93.

What conditions exist for the use of digital documents?
How must these documents be kept?
