Asia Pacific Topic: The Asia Pacific Development Information Programme

The Asia-Pacific Development Information Programme (“APDIP”) is an initiative of the United Nations Development Programme (“UNDP”) that aims to promote the development and application of new Information and Communication Technologies (“ICT”) for poverty alleviation and sustainable human development in the Asia-Pacific region. The APDIP includes three core programmes, which are (i) policy development and dialogue, (ii) access and (iii) content development and knowledge management. APDIP delivers on its objectives through activities that involve awareness raising and advocacy, building capacities, promoting ICT policies and dialogue, promoting equitable access to tools and technologies, knowledge sharing, and networking. The programmes are implemented through strategic public-private sector partnerships and opportunities for technical cooperation among developing countries (“TCDC.”)
