La Topic: Mexican Electronic Commerce Law

The Mexican Secretariat of Commerce and Industrial Development passed the Mexican E-commerce Law in 2000. This decree modifies the Federal Civil Code, Federal Civil Procedure Code, Commercial Code, and Federal Consumer laws and adapts them to the electronic commerce transactions. Mexico did not adopt the exact format of the UNCITRAL E-commerce Model Code as most Latin American countries did. Instead, Mexico incorporated some of the UNCITRAL proposed e-commerce principles into correlated rules found in several Mexican Codes. Following is a brief explanation and analysis of Mexican E-commerce Law.
