Philippines Consumer Act

Consumer protection in the Philippines is regulated by the Consumer Act 1990 (Republic Act n. 7394), which came into effect on July 15, 1992 (the “CA.”). The CA notably contains provisions regarding product safety, deceptive, unfair and unconscionable practices, product liability, advertising and sales promotions, etc. The CA also establishes the National Consumer Affairs Council.
