Electronic Signature Under The Law Of India

Electronic signature in India is regulated by the Information Technology Act 2000 of June 9, 2000 (the “ITA.”) The ITA is aimed at providing a legal framework for e-commerce transactions. The ITA notably confirms the legality of electronic transactions and facilitates the use of electronic technology for meeting legal requirements for information to be in writing, signed, retained or produced.
