Data Protection Commissioner And Protection Of Personal Data In Hungary

In Hungary, the processing of personal data is regulated by the Act n. LXIII of 1992 on the Protection of Personal Data and Disclosure of Data of Public Interest, which was promulgated on November 17, 1992 (the “Personal Data Protection Act.”) In order to supervise the protection of personal data, this Act established the Data Protection Commissioner, an independent natural person elected by the Parliament.
