The Giodo And The Protection Of Personal Data In Poland

In Poland, the processing of personal data is regulated by the Act of August 29, 1997 on personal data protection (the “Personal Data Protection Act.”) In order to supervise the protection of personal data, this Act established the Inspector General for Personal Data Protection (Polish abbreviation: “GIODO”) an independent natural person appointed by the Sejm (Lower Chamber of the Parliament) with the consent of the Senate (Upper Chamber.)
