The Andean Community has become very important in Latin America in the development of trade strategies and tariff policies as well with the protection of industrial property and the harmonization of customs. The Rules of Origin have played a key role in determining whether or not tariffs must be paid and whether or not there are protections afforded to “native” products within the Andean Community.
