With speakers and attendees coming from throughout the world, the IBLS Strategic Global Summit for E-Commerce was one of the most important events for defining the direction of Internet Law in 2003. The event was a showcase as to the importance of global coordination and networking in play when doing business online. Providing a firm foundation into the ways laws coexist in competing jurisdictions was the ultimate achievement of the Summit.

The keynote speaker was U.S. Federal Trade Commissioner Mozelle W. Thompson, who extrapolated on many U.S. key positions concerning Internet regulations and laws. His dynamic examples of new areas in need of further clarification provided attendees and fellow speakers with much needed insight.
